Wilbers Progressive Fork Springs have several advantages over linear springs.
This two stage progressive philosophy works really well in long travel forks such as on the R12G/S. The first rate is soft enough to ride very nicely over the small bumps providing good comfort, but then they ramp up in rate under compression controlling weight transfer and nosedive under heavy braking, and add bottom-out resistance when the terrain gets more challenging.
Don't forget the Fork Oil! You will need 2 Liter of 5wt for these springs.
Please note:
Air chamber is 100mm with springs removed and forks completely compressed.
Instructions for setting air chamber:
1) Remove fork spring and drain old oil.
2) Compress fork fully with spring removed.
3) Add oil until oil level is the prescribed distance from the top of the tube - this is your air chamber.
Piston rods should be pumped several times to dispel any remaining air before final measurement is made.
