I had been looking for replacement shocks for my 2004 R1150 R Rockster but the pickings are slim as it's old and not that common. I've had the bike 2 season's now and the stock shocks (The rear anyway) were pretty well shot at 25,000 miles. Used Ohlins are available on e-bay but still over $1000. and needing a rebuild. No thanks! I called to discussed the situation and spoke directly with Ted- pleasantly surprised! No hard sell and no up-sell. They have much more costly units but these seemed to be a good compromise for my needs. The shocks arrived in @ 4 weeks as promised. Looked good and fit exactly right out of the box. No machining or grinding necessary. With @ 250 miles on the shocks I've cranked up the damping almost all the way and have the front spring preload at maximum. The most apparent difference is the bike is much more settled and planted when leaned over. The stock shocks always made the bike feel loose. Now it's more stable and predictable. Overall, very happy. My only quibble is that the stock springs were still softer than I would like, but again, better than stock. At the same time I installed a left side cam chain tensioner kit from Ted and switched to 20-50 oil. Really quits down the valve train. Very happy with that and installation was simple.
