The Tractive Extremes have about 25k miles on them. Did the California GS Trophy Qualifier in 2021 and the LA-Barstow-Vegas 2022 and tons of Northern New Mexico off-road. Competing in the GS Trophy Qualifier next month in South Carolina. They work fantastic. I installed the rebuildable driveshaft almost 10k miles ago. Again tons of off road. Happy with both. Excellent heavy duty, light-weight replacement for OEM ESA shocks (2010 BMW R1200GSA)

I do some moderate off-road riding, sometimes fully loaded with gear. The terrain can be really choppy and harsh. I have ridden several thousand miles now with this shock, including the NE BDR, fully loaded with gear. The rear wheel is very planted and stable, and the shock eats up just about any type terrain. Speed bumps, railroad tracks, rocky roads are nothing. I have even zipped through some very wavy terrain, see-sawing the whole bike faster than twice a second, and never lost traction. Washboards are still rough since that is mostly the rear tire losing and gaining traction, but it does feel a little more stable. I am glad I got the X-TREME-PA, because even this shock gets pretty warm, almost hot to the touch, on many of my rides. Fantastic shock. I opted to get the manual adjustment shocks, not the ESA version. ESA on the earlier BMW R1200GSA's is mostly just a height adjustment with slight changes in damping, (maybe). They are not as dynamic or effective as the shocks on newer BMW GS/GSA bikes. I don't miss ESA at all and I get no warnings or errors on the dash at all. Weight - the tractive shocks are also 15 lbs. lighter overall, than my stock ESA shocks - 10 lbs. less just in this rear shock by itself. I weighed them on a scale as I switched them out. And do not be afraid to pair the X-TREME shock with the non-X-TREME front shock. Ted Porter gave me some feedback before purchase and he was right, of course - the front shock does not work as hard as the rear shock. While the rear might feel pretty warm during a ride, the front barely ever feels warm at all. So you can trust Beemershop's recommendations. And I love that they personalize the setup so all I have to do is turn a knob. I haven't had to mess with the other settings. Much appreciated, Beemershop!
