The stock shock on the low suspension (non ESA) is not great once you leave the tarmac. The lack of a reservoir on the stock shock heats up very quickly and the dampening fades. The Tractive X-Treme shock is well worth the money. The remote pre load adjuster is very conveniently placed and easy to use. The first day ride off road was night and day different with the comfort and the the stability of the rear end. Please note that it is very important to include what weight is normally on your bike for best performance. I removed my panniers with my tools and some spares for an urban ride. The ride was noticeably firmer and not as planted feeling without the extra weight.
