TFX 140 Internal Floating Piston (IFP) Shock / Rebound & Preload Adjustments

TFX "IFP" Shocks feature the same quality components as their more advanced piggyback shocks, but with less oil capacity and damping adjustability at a lower price point. These IFP type shocks utilize an internal floating piston design which separates the oil and gas resulting in drastically reduced oil cavitation compared to an emulsion design where gas molecules are allowed to mix in with the oil. This means fade free performance even when heavily loaded or when riding over rough streets and off road terrain. IFP type shocks are superior to emulsion designs.

Model 140 IFP Shocks include the following features:

  • Designed, tested and manufactured in Holland.
  • 6082 Heat treated and Hard Anodized Aluminum Cylinder for maximum strength & better heat dissipation than steel cylinders.
  • Available with either Threaded or Hydraulic Preload Adjuster for optimum sag setup. (see *Recommendation, below)
  • Fully rebuildable.
  • Externally adjustable rebound damping with the simple turn of an easily accessible knob, no tools required.
  • Set up for your weight and loads by the experts at BeemerShop.
  • Large 16mm chrome induction hardened piston rod.
  • Low Friction Heavy Duty reinforced Seal Heads with backup rings for reliable shaft sealing, even in the most extreme conditions.
  • 5 Year manufacturer warranty for workmanship and defects.
*Recommendation: Please note that it is extremely difficult to access the Threaded Preload Adjuster on this model.  Therefore it is HIGHLY recommended that this product be purchased with the Hydraulic Preload Adjuster option.  The Threaded Preload Adjuster is designed for the rider whose loads do not change and therefore seldom needs to adjust the spring tension on the rear shock.

Tractive shock for Oil Cooled R1200GS

Just wanted to say thanks for the help getting my suspension ordered and set up correctly. I finally got it broken in and it feels great. I'm really happy with the setup. My girlfriend and I had a magical trip back from St. Helena to Sacramento over highway 128. Not many cars out and we able to just relax and take in a perfect evening cruise. I wasn't expecting night and day difference, but that is how it has felt. A lot stiffer and still a lot more plush than the stock shocks. Makes me realize I need to spend some time setting up my ducati monster shock. Thanks again, Paul D. 2006 R1200GS raised to GSA height

Hi Ted, Did a few miles on the new shocks today. Wow, blown away. I'm really impressed with the difference and should have done this year's ago. When I forget the pain in the ass that the front shock was to change, I'll be back for another set for my other R12ADV. Thank you, Terry
