Wilbers Zero Friction Linear Fork Springs for R12. This fork spring set works with standard height bikes as well as bikes that have been raised +15mm at the rear to improve travel. When installing the +15mm travel Wilbers rrear shock, drop the fork tubes down to be flush with the top fork brace.
The stock fork spings are too soft with insufficient preload resulting in excessive sag on a fork that already suffers from only 3.5" of travel. The fork bottoms easily and the air chamber is too small contributing to poor ride quality. Through extensive testing Wilbers is providing an optimised spring rate at a better length to increase preload, which achieves proper sag increasing usable travel, and matched it with a prescribed air chamber reducing "air spring" effect. The combination of better springs, optimal preload, and more preferred air chamber provides a dramatic improvement in control and comfort over the bigger bumps.
Please note:
7wt oil is recommended for general overall street riding.
Air chamber is 90mm with springs removed and forks completely compressed.
Instructions for setting air chamber:
1) Remove fork spring and drain old oil.
2) Compress fork fully with spring removed.
3) Add oil until oil level is the prescribed distance from the top of the tube - this is your air chamber.
Piston rods should be pumped several times to dispel any remaining air before final measurement is made.
