Progressive Fork Springs have several advantages over linear fork springs for street and off road use due to their progressive resistance to compression. Engineered to be compliant at the start of travel, they offer a comfortable and responsive ride, but the spring rate increases during compression to absorb the big bumps while resisting nosedive and bottoming which is a common complaint of riders using the stock fork springs. These features are very useful in a long travel adventure bike fork.
